There's a nearly universal experience of workplace trauma where Autistics experience exactly this:

hired for your attention to detail
praised for being thorough
resented for your nitpicking
admonished for not letting something go

& leave because burnout

rinse. repeat. variations on a theme.
Being very autistic in a neurotypical workplace is painful as you are both praised and penalized for your autistic qualities.

To be absolutely clear: RFK framing vaccines as the "cause" of Autism is eugenics. First and foremost its wrong by every scientific standard. But also theres an implication that we need to "cure" or prevent Autism. Neurodivergence is not a bad thing.

Boundaries aren’t walls - they’re invitations to clarity and connection.

For autistic humans, boundaries are often about survival.

They protect our energy, help us avoid burnout, and create space for us to thrive.

I don’t want to support small businesses that endorse politicians/political parties that actively harm vulnerable populations.

What’s the best way to inquire about these affiliations if it’s not readily apparent?

The internet isn’t just a place for memes and videos, though those can be great—it’s a space where real, meaningful connections are made.

A kind word, shared story, or ‘virtual’ friend CAN change a life. Never underestimate the power of an online community. 🌍💻

Under Trump, EPA scientists say managers encouraged them to delete evidence of chemicals’ harms, including cancer, miscarriage and neurological problems, from their reports. And in some cases, they said, their managers deleted the information themselves.

EPA Scientists Said They Were Pressured to Downplay Harms From Chemicals. A Watchdog Found They Were Retaliated Against.
Three reports issued by the agency’s inspector general detailed personal attacks suffered by the scientists — including being called “stupid,” “piranhas” and “pot-stirrers” — and called on the EPA to…

Tough times don’t need ‘good vibes only’—they need honesty, empathy, and space to heal. Toxic positivity dismisses real feelings and silences pain.
Let’s replace it with authentic support that says: ‘It’s okay to not be okay, and I’m here for you.’ 🫶

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

Living with chronic illness is like having a full-time job where the hours are terrible, the boss is mean, there are zero vacation days and you aren’t allowed to quit-ever. 😒
