But the SAVE Act can have real consequences, if states purge their voter rolls and require people to re-register - then the SAVE Act restrictions would apply. And this effort is being combined with urgent, frantic DOJ attempts to get copies of state voter rolls. So people should take this seriously.

They didn't include any voter ID requirements in the SAVE Act because, as problematic and abused as those laws are to be sure, the quantifiable effects are pretty marginal. Dems still win elections in states w/ voter ID all the time. They want something much more radical and harmful than that.

SAVE Act has nothing to do with voter ID, that's not in there. It creates deliberately difficult hurdles for registration to vote, where a DL-type ID isn't sufficient. But states that don't check ID at the polls would not be required to start. Every time they claim it's a "voter ID" bill is a lie.
