As the climate data for 2025 continues to be released, it's time to update various data visualisations.

First - the global climate stripes for 1850-2025. A third darkest red stripe is added.

The last 11 years have been the warmest 11 years on record. A sequence that is unlikely to be broken soon.

Didn’t really think I would pull it off, but managed to stitch an icon for every single day of 2025

Flu numbers are high in most states and almost all cases are variants of H3N2 and the vaccine includes H3N2

Get your flu vax if you haven’t already! Even if you still get the flu, the symptoms will be easier to manage if you get vaccinated!

Research shows that repeating lies helps to spread them, and people read headlines more than they read stories.

We’ve lived twelve lifetimes since then, but in September our tiny friend OSIRIS-APEX zipped by and took some pics en route to another asteroid

In the foreground, the instrument panel is dark enough to be nearly in silhouette, like a city skyline. A tall thin rectangle juts up from the left side of the panel, like a tall building, which is part of the SamCam (another onboard camera). In the center, a shorter, squatter polygon shape is the OLA instrument (a laser ranging device). A slightly lighter colored Y shape lays on its side in front of the OLA. About nine hours after OSIRIS-APEX's closest approach to Earth, it collected this full disk composite image of Earth as it departed. From the spacecraft's POV - about 142,000 miles away here - our planet appears against the black of space. Australia is near the center of the image, a dark brown landmass surrounded by blue ocean and white clouds. The far eastern edge of Asia peeks over the horizon on the left side. This view of the Moon, on the far left, and Earth, on the far right, combines two exposures. The Moon is a tiny white dot on the far-left side of the image. Earth is a slightly larger dot made of shades of swirling blue on the right. Space is a black void between them. In the foreground, bright polygons of light reflect back at the imager in white.
