I love words.

There's a new term out there, bubbling into the lexicon. It describes the pattern of the rich getting richer, while the poor get poorer.

Welcome to the K-shaped economy.

Prediction: 2025 word of the year.

Why has America’s economy gone K-shaped?

As Canadians, we like to think we’re strong and free. But, when it comes to the wealth gap, we’re looking more like America Lite—better manners, but almost all the inequality.

As Minister Champagne says, employee ownership is a "game changer" for companies like Taproot, for the broader Canadian economy and for frontline workers like Kam.

Congratulations to Kam and all 750 Taproot employees on becoming owners - and Canada's largest EOT!

@turnbullwhitby.bsky.social at a crucial time for economic sovereignty.

Especially with an enduring tax incentive, EOTs can keep companies Canadian, keep jobs local and build wealth for workers.

The wealthiest Canadians pay lower tax rates than what the average worker pays.

Why? Because our tax system taxes employment income at a higher rate than passive investment income.

Hello. I wrote a nice long essay about AI and this very strange moment where we're constantly told we're living in the dawn of a strange new future but the only thing that's actually clear is that everyone feels pretty unmoored and uncertain. I hope you'll read it

EOTs are poised to explode in popularity in Canada – securing entrepreneurs’ legacies, preserving local jobs and keeping companies Canadian-owned.

"You're not tall. Everyone else is just short," she used to say.

It stuck.

We get a new billionaire every 12 weeks.

Employee-owned companies are 8-12% MORE PRODUCTIVE than those not owned by workers.
