It was me!

As we digest more and more incredibly shitty news, I wrote this for @oregonhumanities.org as an offering for each of us to take in and learn all that we can from the resiliency of the ocean.
A beautiful piece from a friend writing back in Oregon about life by the ocean, the energy that it generates, and the need for community in order to meet possible emergencies. Brilliant, @katelovesmath.bsky.social.

Meanwhile... HEY, look over here 👋⬇️

If the U.S. Treasury grants this banking license, the Trump cryptocurrency would be woven into our country's financial system.

Oh, and Zach Witkoff (son of Trump’s envoy to Russia, Steve Witkoff) is at the helm. #followthemoney

Your regular reminder that ~90% of the lawless authoritarianism could end today, simply by these Senators & about 7 other people in Congress caucusing with the Democrats & giving them governing majorities in both chambers until the crimes & fascism stop.
Todd Young has voted YES on the Venezuela war powers resolution; Murkowski, Collins and Paul are a YES. This will have the simple-majority vote needed to pass unless one or more Democrats vote NO.

i don't want to live in a world where posting graphic video is the only possible way of getting people to believe something happened. but that is the world we live in now. and with AI, not even that is going to be enough.

Reading this piece by @sesmith.lol made my (Gen X) head spin. You, too, should definitely read it.

From mathematician @kityates.bsky.social, further logical backing for us all to remember about AI: treat it like any evolving software & scrape thru what it 🤮 at you.

“You wouldn’t want to use it in writing a proof, for the same reason you wouldn’t want ChatGPT writing your life insurance contract”

I don't know how many times it needs to be said that you absolutely should not let fucking "AI" anywhere near your legal contracts, either in creating them or evaluating them, but apparently it needs to be said at least one more time, so allow me to say it again, here, right now
