Hi all my new followers, it’s been a crazy week
I imagine most of you know me from the ‘other place’
But if not I’m Kara, and I typically post about Star Trek and other fun nerdy stuff

Watching THE PITT in light of all we've lately been bombarded with -- Epstein, Bondi, ICE, etc -- it's heartening to watch a show about people whose lives are devoted to helping others. I know it's fiction but that's been exactly my real life experience with medical staff, and my fellow Minnesotans.

I'm not a climate doomer, because that's what the powerful want. They want people to give up and say "it's too late."
Even if it is too late, I'd still rather the world decarbonize if only to fuck up the fossil fuel companies.

When I got the contract to write a history of concentration camps in 2014, I hoped to keep the US from ending up here. That didn't work out! But now it's critical to understand how much is already in process and the enormity of what's coming. The sooner we act to stop it, the more people we'll save.
