I was today years old when I learned this and as a XIII defender and XIII sequel hater, I’m going to ignore it and vibe with the power of friendship saving the day
the literal beat for beat events of the ending of Final Fantasy XIII are entirely impossible to understand or even speculate on without the context of a lore video released in a 2011 press conference
After "film trilogy that dropped a critical plot point exclusively via timed Fortnite event" and "video game series whose story only makes sense if you're aware of the events of a canon pachinko machine", I feel like there are whole frontiers of user-hostile narrative design waiting to be explored.

Watched Frankenstein from @realgdt.bsky.social tonight and absolutely loved it. Haunting and beautiful like most of his films, with a sympathetic eye for The Creature that brought a tear to my eye more than once.

I really want to give the Dragon Quest III remake a try and see if the 2D style endears itself to me more. I still wonder if I would have enjoyed XI more in 2D.
