I'm dragging this photo over from the other place and pinning it here since it makes me laugh. This is from my morning commute on the CTA Blue Line in February 2020. My first sign that things were going to get really weird, really quickly, and stay that way.
It’s pretty rare that I am still awake at 2am for a good reason, but here we are. Happy New Year to everyone I had the pleasure to ring it with in person, and to all the rest of you who I love. 🎊

I don't really want to live in most of this country. I only put Mass. as green because of proximity to some extended family in the maybe zones, and there is a city there that I've been to several times. It's the same reason that Indiana isn't bright red, despite it being mostly a terrible place.

Supporters of the gunshot detection system said it helped officers save lives when shootings were not reported to emergency services. ShotSpotter was never used to dispatch paramedics.
