But now that it’s investigating whether the Trump administration illegally ignored congressional authority, Republicans are trying to dismantle it.

The timing isn’t just suspicious—it’s loud. Undermining oversight is how corruption goes unchecked. (2/2)

What if instead of doom scrolling while all life on the planet was literally being threatened by incompetent criminals, we all instead just declared a general strike, took back our power, and restored sanity to government and society.
Just a thought.

If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:

1) The Iraq War won’t cost a lot of money
3) We won’t need a lot of troops
4) We’ll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) We’ll find WMDs
6) We’ll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It won’t take long

All lies.

My guess is there is a relationship between those two events.

We’ve bombed Iran. And dismantled our joint terrorism task force. And sent a third of the FBI to help ICE. And gutted the National Security Council. And a drunk guy is in charge at the pentagon. And our intelligence allies probably won’t share intel with us. Because people couldn’t vote for a woman.

Keep the U.S. out of war with Iran!

We’re in another Middle East war. I’m reflecting on the fact that it’s easy to start a war, difficult to end it. There’s often war optimism, so it’s unlikely to end with bomb strikes today. Lastly, I’m troubled that Trump’s national security team is who we have running this war.

It's understandable we all mostly take it as a given that Trump doesn't bother to adhere to Constitution or the laws passed by Congress, but it is still both (a) absolutely necessary for our democracy and (b) good political strategy for Dems to file articles of impeachment over this.
There's no declaration of war, and no AUMF that covers this. Entering this war is wrong on the merits; we had a perfectly peaceful way to address Iran's nuclear program. It's also unlawful. A democratic republic should not be able to enter a war of choice on one man's say-so.
The US has hust dropped bombs on three Iranian nuclear sites, according to Trump, bringing American military forces into Israel’s war with Iran.

Trump has overplayed his hand and he's doubling down by escalating his vicious deportation and militarization agenda across the country.

Fight back, Dems! It works! Trump loses on this! (And it's also the right thing to do, you know, morally, if that happens to factor into your politics at all).

I am looking for congressional leaders to come out quickly and forcefully against this. We need unequivocal opposition. We need theatric demonstrations of defiance. We need to see leadership. Trump will steamroll us all if we display weakness. Where are our leaders?

This is not about the merits of Iran’s nuclear program. No president has the authority to bomb another country that does not pose an imminent threat to the US without the approval of Congress. This is an unambiguous impeachable offense.

They have no joy, only arguing with people online.
