I really can’t believe the fucking 10s I bag sometimes. 6ft, 31, fit, Lebanese so those perfect fucking curls, does maintenance for non-profit housing. I made a nest in my living room today and there we watched 3 documentaries then kissed, etc.The whole time I’m thinking How!! Is this happening??

The entire town of Duncan is filled with a high-pitched squealing noise intended to deter loitering. I stopped there to rest my brain last night but the noise had the opposite effect. I was returning from Nanaimo where I was interviewing about how built environment helps ppl survive/succumb to OD.

When your university rejects your travel grant application despite being accepted to present your thesis research on an international platform, all you can do is turn to the internet to beg (after exhausting all your resources).

Just re-watched the AB govt's My Recovery Plan promo video and found that they shoehorned in "spiritually and culturally appropriate goals and tasks" after all the Indigenous-run service providers refused to implement the app.

I’m in my evasive era. If hard/awkward conversations are not going to lead to a material or psychological benefit, then I don’t see a point in having them anymore. I’m tired.

A thing I really appreciate about Victoria is the accessibility of the Depression Walk™️ ie easy proximity to a lot of nice places to be when you’re at low capacity while still usually being really peaceful

Methadone, safer supply, drugs (which all cause withdrawal, so more immediate property crime and making less-safe decision while doing sex work), harm reduction supplies they can’t immediately replace so they have to share, ASHES OF THEIR LOVED ONES.
Press needs to stop repeating govt euphemism of “clearing homeless camps.” I’ve witnessed it in other cities: massive destruction of personal property. Not just bedrolls & tents; family photos, Bibles, meds. Times I’ve seen it people weren’t even given option to move their things.

The @theglobeandmail.com article comparing Eur and NA and fent deaths has two glaring errors I’ve noticed so far. 1–blaming opioid overprescription in NA for fent deaths when a third of deaths occur in the absence of OUD. 2–using high rate of fent in OD deaths as evidence for “the demand for fent.”

I’ve lost like 25 lbs of body fat (intentionally, and I think healthily) and the only difference in my life so far is that random men strike up conversation with me a lot more which is confusing and disorienting
