Yet another reason that we’re getting out of Florida.
NEW: In a moment of peril, Florida lawmakers allowed Citizens Property Insurance, its insurer of last resort, to take disputes before judges whose salaries it funds.

The company has taken 1,500+ insurance disputes to mandatory arbitration, where it wins more than 90% of final hearings.

Crockett: This is a person that has a problem with people of color. When we look at who he says are low IQ, even though when you look at his cabinet—this has to be the most incompetent cabinet we have ever had in the history of this country.

A former student wrote a great essay on family abolition for Nursing Clio! In an era of climate disasters, Marin makes some searing points about what care looks like, and who is supposed to *do* carework in the economy/society we're in. nursingclio.org/2025/06/11/f...

I went to graduate school at SIU in the early '80s.

This makes me so sick.

NEW: The Trump administration’s research funding and DEI cuts present an existential threat to regional public universities like Southern Illinois University, the economic backbone of the conservative rural region it serves.

Finished watching Adolescence. One of the most well acted shows in awhile. Last two episodes really got me. Especially the final 15 minutes. 4 episodes, all shot with a single camera shot, all in real time. All parents should watch the indoctrination of young boys in our society.
