Senate Democrats are the only group of people in America that could look at the election results from *less than a week ago* and conclude, “Ah, what the people want now is for us to roll over and show our bellies to the reactionary creeps”

So Donald Trump’s big donors and giant corporations get massive tax breaks, but Americans waiting for SNAP payments are told to eat dirt? Did I get that right?

School lunches get a bad rap, but they're healthier than the average packed lunch. And making them free for all amplifies academic and health benefits for low-income kids by removing stigma/shame.
So I'm glad Colorado voted to raise taxes on high-income households to make school meals free for all.

Thank you, @warnock.senate.gov!
I’d be happy to work across the aisle with ANYONE who wants to get serious about fixing our health care system.
But we’re facing down a health care emergency that has real consequences for people right now. Extend the subsidies and my door is open.

@ossoff.senate.gov What part of this massive win says, "It's time to cave to the GOP?"
Even Trump admitted on "Truth" Social last night that the shutdown contributed to Democratic and Progressive victories.

The biggest difference by far watching the various campaigns as a New Yorker and all of the messaging we were targeted with I think is an important takeaway for the whole country:
Cuomo’s entire message was threats and fear and cynicism.
Mamdani’s entire message was lightness and joy and hope.

I have now read a few dozen different takes from Republicans on last night’s election results and none of them have concluded that Trump is responsible for it in any way. Lots of lots of other takes and theories, but none of them include accountability for their infallible hero.

The fact that Democrats won both elections yesterday for the Georgia Public Service Commission is remarkable enough (no Democrat had won a non-federal statewide race in GA since 2006).
But both won by a margin of 63% to 37%. In Georgia.

I went to vote today and y'all, THERE WAS A LINE. A week before election day. For a handful of local races. I'm getting the impression that people have feelings about the state of this country.
