"DULF’s pilot project worked,” said the BC Supreme Court judge of the Vancouver compassion club.

She still convicted founders Jeremy Kalicum and Eris Nyx. But some of her comments "may provide fuel" for their upcoming constitutional challenge, reports @godfrey.bsky.social:

More than 80% But less than 81% of Sask Party members vote to continue to harm children, criminalize health issues like mental health & addictions, & crap on the working people of this province.Supporting Danielle smith lite will ensure Sask party remains unelectable in large parts of the province

Happy to hear the conviction will be in abeyance until this moves through Supreme Court. Glad Justice Murray recognized that these two had noble intentions of saving lives (something elected leaders are reluctant to do). She was bound by the law as written. But this isn’t over!

Very disappointing to hear- Jeremy and Eris were brave enough to do what our elected leaders weren’t in order to save lives, and now will be punished for it. Sad day, but now at least they can run this up to Supreme Court of Canada.
BREAKING: DULF organizers found guilty of trafficking. More to come w/ @tsk.bsky.social in the courtroom today.

If the challenge is successful, it would not be the first time a Sask Party gov’t loses at supreme court after trying to trample on people’s rights
GOOD. Premiers using the notwithstanding clause to take our rights away whenever we prove to be ideologically inconvenient is wrong. What is our democracy then?

This could not have been said better
Think about how the left told Biden, and then Kamala, that their campaign would 100% lose if they did the exact opposite of what Mamdani's would be.

They literally plugged their ears and said shut the fuck up, and then she lost by doing the exact opposite, in every way on every issue, of Mamdani.

Drug prohibition and criminalization of drug use have never worked in all of human history. Your wrong opinion on that subject just makes you look as uneducated as you are.

Conservatives seeing a Supreme Court decision, not reading it, completely overreacting and creating a moral panic? Can’t say they are not consistent!

What a shock.

Trust me this has nothing to do with their concern for kids and everything to do with demonstrating their contempt for workers and unions and will take every opportunity available to violate workers’ rights

What the Alberta government just did should worry all Canadians.

When they legislated striking teachers back to work, they went a step further:

They used the notwithstanding clause.

This is part of a worrying trend.

The “war on fentanyl” is actually paving the way for even worse drugs to do even more harm to Americans because that’s how these things have always gone and nobody ever wants to hear that. If you haven’t heard of the Iron Law of Prohibition, now is a great time to look it up!
