Reread "Scarlet", by Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev

That's Bendis's angriest comic, and it's seething with righteous resentment

Bendis has always made his stories about unfairness. Unfairness in the world, unfairness in a systemic and personal level. "Scarlet" is his most direct attack at it
This book has been on fire for a while and the fire burns forever here

Incredible tie-in. Incredible payoff for more threads. Really can't wait for Endgame #2

Avengers #34 (or #800 if you're feeling celebratory!) is shaping up to be an okay climax to a run that I felt showed more promise but is kind of inevitably having to close a very ambitious story in a very unambitious way

Maybe the shadow of Hickman is still too large, the resolution being very SW

I can’t believe my publisher has reposted this Incendiary yet true claim.

Some days, only Elliott Smith will calm my nerves

I'm never gonna know you now
But I'm gonna love you anyhow

Been thinking about "Resurrection of Magneto"

In a bolder world, I would have loved to see a follow-up to this conclusion, the idea of Magneto as a champion for "ALL WHO ARE HATED AND FEARED". In the days of Israel's ongoing genocide of Palestine, it would have been such a powerful theme to explore

I just want one gallery--a platform--that I don't have to be disgusted by. One that doesn't weigh me down with guilt when I want to engage with art. One that actually stuck by a desire to do no evil.

This was such a great mini. Best use of these characters in a great while, particularly Lian and Cheetah. Also my favorite Nicola Scott work since Historia, and that was a deluxe project.

Helps that it's also a stealth epilogue to one half of my favorite Wonder Woman run ever. Incredible tale

I'm obsessed with this costume, genuine top 3 superhero costumes of all time contender for me
One day kids opened up the latest issue of Superboy and got themselves a treat: a new costume for Cosmic Boy!

The bland, pink uniform was now replaced by buffed, naked arms, legs and abs in a black metallic open corset top.

Mike Grell says guys still go up to him to tell him how much they hate it.

Mike Wieringo always drew the best reactions in comics imo.

One of my 2026 resolutions:

Finally write a comics newsletter.

When the time comes, I kindly ask anyone who sees this (or feels it into the cosmos) to help me with it, and hopefully enjoy it

I truly hope those news about a future Gillen Krakoa X-Men Omnibus are not fully true, because by the lord, that's an AWFUL collection if so

No AXE tie ins, no Sins of Sinister issues, NO GODDAMN RISE OF THE POWERS OF X, THE CONCLUSION OF THE FUCKING RUN?

I have to believe there will be more......

The thesis of Scott Snyder's take on Batman. Never left my head after I read it
Maybe that’s what Batman is about. Not winning. But failing, and getting back up. Knowing he’ll fail, fail a thousand times, but still won’t give up.

~ Scott Snyder “Batman: Zero Year” #32 (2014)

Favorite Bowie album
"...Once there were mountains on mountains
And once there were sun birds to soar with
And once I could never be down
Got to keep searching and searching
And oh, what will I be believing
And who will connect me with love?"

"Howl's Moving Castle" for me as well. It is absolutely enchanting

I have a very fond memory of watching this in the cinema here in Brazil, back when it debuted, and there was no one in the theater except for me, my brother, my mom and my grandma. Dunno why that made it even more magical
In honor of Hayao Miyazaki's birthday, what's your favorite Studio Ghibli film? Doesn't have to be the one you think is "the best," just the one that nestled in your heart. Mine is Howl's Moving Castle.
