He/Him. Methodist Presbyter, not Quaker Recording Clerk. Geeky. Shouty. Pro-liberation. Likes boardgames, DnD, Folk music. Tries to sew. Drives an EV. Queer. Talks too much, too often and too banally. Views my own

A moment of minor confusion followed by much mirth as #MethodistConf transitions from Lydia to Lyngham midway through singing O For a Thousand Tongues, and concluded with a verse of Cranbrook (On Ilkley Moor Baht 'At).

This. All day, every day, this.
It is remarkable that the west is committing to spending 5% of GDP on defence, and almost no one has made the case that the most pressing threat to our security this century is climate change and we should be spending more on tackling that.

- discover they are each other's terrible reviewer
- hijinks ensue

i once heard a queer kid explain that one of the things that brings them the most relief and comfort is seeing a tattered pride flag with faded colors - because that's a sign of a place where a pride flag can soak in the sun and breeze for years and years.
I was scared to first put up a queer pride flag (red state resident) but the biggest surprise was how much more often people stopped by my house asking for help: stuck motorists, unhoused neighbors, etc.

Some told me outright that the flag made them guess that I cared about them and that's correct
With all of the anti-drag, transphobic, queerphobic nonsense about lately, I wanted to install a flag that demonstrates queer pride, so here it is. Trans and proud. Queer and proud.

Okay. Time is fast approaching to lock-in some outfits.

Key questions are:

1. Collar or not collar
2. Where on the formal-informal continuum.

Obviously I'll dress comfortably. (Both physically and how I hold myself). And I know it doesn't really matter.
No, I have no idea what I'm going to wear.
Yes, of course I'm thinking about that already.

Yes, I am excited.
Yes there's also something very intimidating about going.

I know two of you'll be there, but do lemme know if I can look forward to seeing you there!!

In a rare coincidence of getting my service printed by 10pm last night, having a 10.45 service today and happening to wake up nicely this morning... I've managed a cup of tea with my Sunday breakfast!! Which is unheard of!

(It's 50/50 whether I manage breakfast most Sundays tbh).
