Imagine being a tree. Day to day, month to month everyone thinks you're just sitting there. But you're not. You're an unstoppable force. A juggernaut. You will destroy concrete, brick, rock. All you need is time.

You should try this and read my books because no one is reading them in Kobo Plus and I've never seen a payment in there 🤣...but one day I might!! 📚💙
Kobo is doing a 30 day free trial promotion for their Kindle Unlimited competitor service Kobo Plus for new subscribers (not sure if this is US only), if you like queer indie books, small press SFF, and backlist SFF from large publishers there's a lot to choose from on this service that's not on KU!

They were giving away unused pumpkins at the library last weekend; this one was too far gone for eating so I painted it instead.

Hands up if you've never used Chat GPT ✋

(I feel like Dozer and Tank in The Matrix right now - at first I didn't use it because, rather ironically, I'm lazy and stubborn (peak Taurus energy there) - literally no, don't make me use the new thing I don't wanna. Now I'm glad I didn't 😅)
Probably a good way to tell right now if the job you’re applying for is run by absolute dumbfucks is to ask if they’re using AI.

They want to reserve the right to be direct (and harsh) to women, but men *hate it* when women treat them the same way bc they find it disrespectful

We say men are less emotional because we coincidentally don't define anger or reacting because of ego as emotions.

I took 12 months for my first two and 18 months for my third 😁. The only reason my husband didn't take part of it was because he was a PhD student during the first two and stay-at-home dad during the third. We had intended to split it if applicable though!
A couple weeks ago a friend was telling me about someone she knew who had been on maternity leave, and said she had taken "the full year." I said, "A whole year? Wow, what kind of fancy job does she have that gives her a YEAR of leave?" and my friend looked surprised & said, "... welcome to Canada?"

It was a little different last week.

It's still October!

Why not try a queer horror comedy that doesn't skimp on any of the three?

A cryptid-hunting skeptic follows a (fake?) video of his presumed-dead mom to a former conversion camp on an isolated island, all while fleeing the "straight" co-host he drunkenly made out with.

I was never able to consistently hit the nano daily goal, and I never used to win! Then I started "writing every day" by making sure I wrote at least one sentence on my zero days (good accomplishment hit) but still accepting my need for those zero days and letting the big days carry me. Then I won!
I'm doing (unofficial) nanowrimo to finish my novel draft. My top tip for drafting on deadline, having done it a lot: 50 words is better than 0. If you have a day when you think "no way I get 1,666 words today" ask yourself if you can do 50. The less far Future You has to go to catch up, the better.

I'm never going to do anything with this so free best idea of the day - experts looking for new research avenues should be holding yearly meetings with people who have their field as a special interest. I got ideas, baby.
