This is insanely chaotic. Unacceptable that local democracy has been messed around in this way.

Those who made the original decision should be considering their positions.

Um, this is quite mad. Who is it even supposed to appeal to?

Not sure anybody wants another election right now, outside of the far-right.
It’s time for Labour stop the infighting and get on with fixing the country.

And if they can’t do that - they should call a General Election.

Very obvious case of trying to get any potential controversy out there *before* challenging the leadership, seeing how it lands.

Wes will do anything for power.
BREAKING: Wes Streeting publishes his private WhatsApp messages with Peter Mandelson in apparent attempt to draw a line under their friendship. They reveal:

:: He feared being “toast at the next election” in his Ilford North seat, adding: “There isn’t a clear answer to the question: why Labour?”.

Just to be completely clear, Sarwar is also absolutely awful

To be fair, I also dont want to inadvertently find myself with 15 minutes of Sharron Davies
Someone from the Tories’ Lords team really needs to change Sharron Davies’ X log in.

As an aside, how *would* 15 minute cities be “thrust on us overnight”?

Weren't we supposed to have a prominent defector from Labour to Reform yesterday? 👀
January 28, 2026 at 1:49 PM
Honestly think Matt Goodwin as the Reform candidate, plus no big name Green candidate, means Gorton and Denton will be a fairly comfortable Labour hold in the end
January 28, 2026 at 9:41 AM
I actually don't think Trump seems particularly aware of whats going on in Minnesota, and whenever he comments on the deaths he seems uncomfortable that they're happening

The whole approach screams of Miller, a genuine psychopath, having basically taken over the running of it all behind the scenes
President Trump says he spoke to Governor Walz.

I don’t believe we have a read-out on this call from the Walz side yet, please correct me if I’m wrong.

I will note that this is giving “off-ramp” energy.
January 26, 2026 at 5:22 PM
Always edifying to see another recruit to the 'deport my own parents' wing of Reform

Zahawi still excelling by being in the 'deport people exactly like me' camp
BREAKING: Suella Braverman has defected to Reform UK, in one of the least surprising defections to far.

But she’ll be able to politicise her time in the Home Office to continue arguing that it is ineffective at combatting immigration etc.

I suspect tho that some Tories won’t miss her.

Always nice to see Labour continuing their proud tradition of 'hating each other more than they hate anybody else' depending on what faction they represent

We’re supposed to believe this is a domestic terrorist attacking ICE with a gun
January 24, 2026 at 9:35 PM
Difficult to have the words on what is happening in Minneapolis. It looks as if the guy who got shot was initially trying to diffuse the situation.

A frame in one video then shows a masked thug shooting him from behind, whilst he was on the ground, execution style. Surely ICE must be withdrawn.

If Burnham uses this to be a big voice for Proportional Representation in Westminster then he could be a fantastic voice, one that goes down in history

If he just goes in being another Labour MP, it will be a monumental waste of all of our time
I have today written to the Chair of Labour’s National Executive Committee seeking permission to enter the selection process for a candidate for the forthcoming Gorton and Denton by-election.

Read my letter here.👇🏻

Well this Trump Press Conference is already insane

I haven't actually seen him speak for a while but this is even more incoherent and rambling than he used to be. Just an absolute mess

Well this is obviously insane

The UK public love banning stuff for *other people* to fix *their* bad behaviour, so I worry that this may end up going further

People are obsessed with young people on social media, but the impact of social media on adults goes is just as damaging

Regulation & actual enforcement. Not blanket bans
NEW: The Labour government is consulting on a social media ban for under 16s.

It follows calls by dozens of its MPs for a ban.

Since Australia implemented its own ban, there has been pressure for the U.K. to follow.
