And then there's the reason we exist, namely the fact that impeachment is a duty. Our organization is veteran-founded, and like members of the service, Congress swears an oath to support and defend the Constitution. We continue to remind them of that.

The Legacy Nancy Pelosi Never Wanted
The groundbreaking speaker’s aversion to impeachment led her to short-circuit the oversight process. The price was two acquittals for Trump and a weakened Congress.

Remove the Regime happens 11/20-11/22 in D.C. We know that most of you can't travel to D.C. (and that's okay)!

To maximize the impact, we are organizing call-in campaigns on 11/20 while those in D.C. are physically knocking on Congress's doors, and again on 11/24 to keep the pressure on.

When I hear members of the United States Congress say everything under the sun is bad about Trump and then they stop before talking about how the constitution states the president serves at their pleasure, what I hear is "I endorse all this behavior I pretend I am criticizing".

I have heard a bit about how a lot of members, such as @warren.senate.gov, are trying to keep their heads down on the big picture stuff so that they can get the gavels for their committees and then finally do good work.

And let me be the first to say that is dumb as hell.

"Oh we don't have the votes, impeachment won't do anything".

Literally a single member of Congress introduced impeachment articles in late April and it freaked out Trump so much he made a rapid shift towards the midterms, miscalculated, and got Brian Kemp to announce he wasn't running for Senate.

Nothing in the "end the shutdown" Senate bill does anything to protect Congress' prerogative under Article I of the Constitution. The shutdown should have been about that. They made ACA their hill to die on, and are now caving in on that. What was the point of this, then?
The most Democrat consultant-brained piece of this was making it a procedural fight about ACA subsidies — that, if extended for a year, would help the GOP in the 2026 midterms anyway — instead of making it stand against Trump’s lawlessness and corruption.

But that would require believing in things.
Major concession from Democrats here is enhanced ACA funds aren’t extended. Preserving them was Dems’ central demand in this fight. They secured a promise of a vote (which Thune has been offering for weeks), but that could still fail. Even if it passes, Johnson has made no promise of a House vote.

Anyway I think this conversation is mostly dumb as hell because the Democrats are fully complicit in this but no, I am not in favor of giving the Republican party even more power thank you very much.

"Take the L and concede".

Jesus, how do you square the American mythos of a nation born out of heroic struggle against a tyrant with…whatever that loser shit is.

A Canadian politician can say something like that, being a nation born out of compromise and negotiation.

But America? WTF?!

What are these people even doing? They can't fund the government? Are you kidding me? How good is all their expertise if they are keeping a child rapist, fascist, insurrectionist in cognitive decline in charge of the nukes and not even doing the most basic parts of their jobs?

Impeachment is popular; Trump is not.
A lot of discourse hasn't caught up with how the strong/somewhat breakdown is even more brutal. His core base of strong support is already falling below a quarter of voters! Even what approval he has is increasingly soft and halfhearted. Whereas disapprovers are much firmer in really hating the man.
