A lot of the 2D animation purist stuff I've often seen online over the years, decades even, basically boils down to:

"I want a 2D animated movie that's specifically like Disney/Bluth/early DreamWorks, so I can feel like I'm 8 years old in 2002 all over again."
Everyone keeps saying they want more big budget 2d animated movies, but nobody seems to care when they actually come out

Shocking and heartbreaking news. Catherine O'Hara was great in everything.

Beetlejuice, Home Alone, The Nightmare Before Christmas, For Your Consideration, After Hours and SCTV are just a sample of the highlights. This is a massive loss. variety.com/2026/tv/news...

I'd like to see this be done with Ren & Stimpy, considering the franchise's troubled history, especially its appalling creator!

Plus, I believe R&S deserve to have a life disassociated from John Kricfalusi! #RenAndStimpy #animation #film #Nickelodeon #ParamountSkydance

The best film critics will always be those that engage with the film, analyse its intent and themes and try to understand its techniques, not those who mindlessly and repeatedly throw the word "slop" around like a three-year-old in a high chair.

Roger Allers gave us so many unforgettable animated moments.

He did a splendid job with "The Lion King" and his beautiful short "The Little Matchgirl", served as head of story of "Beauty and the Beast" and his original Incan story eventually led to "The Emperor's New Groove."

I feel like I say this every awards season, but animation fans trying to create these wars between the studios is ridiculous when the filmmakers themselves don't do this.

"Elio" co-director Domee Shi has praised "KPop Demon Hunters" and KPop director Maggie Kang expressed excitement for "Hoppers."
Congratulations, I am happy for everyone involved.

Now we can do without the "(Insert title here) beat Disney" videos and all that junk, please.

RIP to Guy Moon.

I learned recently today he was responsible for the doing the Powerhouse arrangement for Cartoon Network in 1998, and listening back, I can really tell it was him now. What a legend, I'm really gonna miss him.

There is no phrase that I want to see die a brutal death more than "CalArts Style". It's 2025 people, stop using that damn phrase. Besides, I like that the character designs we're getting pull influence from international animation like anime and Aardman. It's cool.

The most absurd part of modern Pixar discourse consists of people complaining the newer movies aren't as good as the earlier films, because "they use CalArts Style."

I guess they don't know where the directors of "Toy Story" and "Finding Nemo" graduated from.

I personally think the generations that hold a fondness for things like "Space Jam" and the live-action "Scooby-Doo" shouldn't be turning their noses up at today's children for the movies they enjoy.

Soooo, just like what you like and share it all w/ like-minded people, or people who may become future animation lovers. Quit chasing those who have loooong made up their minds.

Happy 70th Birthday to The #Muppets!

Is May 9 the day the Muppets debuted? Nope, but it's still a big date in Muppet history--and the Jim Henson story--nevertheless.

Here's the story of how they got there. Take a walk with me. /1
