Hey gang, the fundraiser Aint Pancakes EP is still up, raising donations for Carolina Migrant Network. So far we raised about $60 and I’d love to get that up to at least $100. Please help spread the word. But there’s even more…

if you have seen Ran, see it again
Ran (1985)

Akira Kurosawa's epic retelling of Shakespeare's King Lear. A warlord's crimes come back to haunt him at the end of his life as he watches his family devour itself.

Hang every shot of this movie in the Louvre!

It’s @joncinemadual.bsky.social’s birthday! He’s a fantastic friend and frequent musical collaborator and my life is so much better for his presence in it.

To celebrate him, y’all should listen to his entire discography. Way more people should be into Domestikwom.

Update to the Zaleski book. I did not expect them to give a critique of Lewis’ “Liar Lunatic or Lord” argument in Mere Christianity, a thing I’ve had thrown at me ad nauseum in college.

But I did appreciate it. This book keeps paying off.
I’ve started the Philip and Carol Zaleski book The Fellowship, and even though it’s gonna be a lot longer read, even just the intro does a much better job on selling me on why I should care than all of the Carpenter book.
