👋 I'm Danielle, and I'm on the #econjobmarket this year!

Let's start with a student describing her segregated school:

"The school felt temporary. Built like a warehouse with aluminum siding . . . I had a slipshod education"

The twist? The student is white, and her school is private.

New, from me: A Trump official is concocting mortgage fraud claims to target opposition. It's a classic authoritarian trick.

Now they are doing it to Lisa Cook, the first Black female member of the Federal Reserve to push her to resign. 🧵

🗣️President Trump’s proposed FY26 budget would roll back WIC's fruit and vegetable benefits to pre-2021 levels, before USDA’s science-based increase.

Breastfeeding moms would drop from $54 → $13
Young kids: $27 → $10

These cuts jeopardize early nutrition. Read the full NWA statement:

Our two papers on abortion bans and fertility/infant mortality are now out.

In 14 states w/ abortion bans, fertility increased 1.7% and infant mortality increased 6%.

Key takeaway is that these impacts were disproportionately felt among those w/ greatest structural disadvantages.
