"And no, the wealthy won’t just pack up and leave — New York’s top 1 percent move less often than all other income groups. And when they do move, they move to other high-tax states like New Jersey and California."
Mayor Mamdani’s Budget Can Add Up
New York’s incoming socialist mayor faces real fiscal constraints — but also real opportunities. With a strong tax base, modest reforms, and a clear political mandate, Zohran Mamdani has the tools to ...

Every single person on the left needs to understand that Nicolas Maduro is a dictator, and Hugo Chavez made that dictatorship possible. Everyone needs to understand that democratic socialism has nothing to do with what has affected Venezuela for a quarter of a century.
Despite my scepticism of politicians in general, I like him more every day (starts around 12:49): "Nicolás Maduro is a dictator. [He is] someone who has repressed the freedom of the press and jailed political dissidents...Our vision is entirely distinct from [his] politics" youtu.be/iTVaTTWFUt4

Refusing to comply with a court order to pay SNAP should be enough reason to impeach and remove Donald Trump. Just find a reason and impeach him. He is a danger to the country, literally. He will be the cause of hunger, homelessness and even death.

Another stupid, bigoted policy that will have to be reversed immediately after Trump gets out of power.
Breaking News: The Supreme Court cleared the way for the Trump administration to require passports to reflect the sex found on original birth certificates. The case stems from the administration's effort to rescind policies allowing trans people to update gender markers on their travel documents.

When Zohran Mamdani becomes mayor of New York City, he will immediately have to confront a host of issues that have little to do with “freezing the rent,” his main housing-related pledge. Here’s a look at a few of them.

My culture is a very dominant culture. Now that you elected a Muslim mayor if you don't do something about it, you're going to halal trucks on every corner.

Donald Trump thinks that ending the filibuster means that they have window of opportunity to rig the system in his favor. He has been up to this point in his political career lucky enough to get away with this kind of short-term plays, but he might get out of that luck soon enough.

Bodegas are a historic relationships between NYC and the diasporic communities that started them. A convenience store is just another distribution point in a supply chain for a corporation.
Here is my challenge to the people who say that a NYC bodega is indistinguishable from a convenience store in other cities: give me the name and location of a convenience store you think is indistinguishable from a NYC bodega. If I visit that city, I'll check it out. 1/2

"You cannot defeat Trump’s racist populism without redirecting voters’ anger toward the true source of their suffering: the corporations and billionaires that bankroll both parties—and Democratic leaders like Schumer and Jeffries refuse to do that."
If Schumer & Jeffries have been hostile to his camapign, it's because Mamdani’s ability to raise millions on an explicitly anti-corporate message represents a direct threat to the entire fundraising machinery that sustains Democratic Party leadership. /1

The Trump administration is violating the law to create leverage against Democrats because they don't care that their (Republicans) violation of the law will affect the public, and they expect the public to blame Democrats for their violation of the law and callousness.
I love how Rep. Joe Neguse reframed this question.
