A lawyer; not your lawyer. I'd tell you more but it's a surprise. Blocking is my hobby. Really prefer not to be on lists. She/her. Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦. Go Bills 🏈.

I forgot that I had not yet posted my Northern light photos from last night. I lucked out and had another fantastic viewing. I didn't have a fancy camera this time and it was so cold I hated taking my mitten off to take a picture, but I got a few.
Jfc. May everyone connected with this administration and ICE rot in hell.

Dems in the midterms-- beat the drum on this one.

Well, see, Emmer, voters aren't grabbing election workers, beating them, handcuffing them with zip ties, shoving them into vans and disappearing them.

Hope this helps.
Emmer: "Another reform they claim they want is they want ICE agents to identify themselves, to show identification. But they don't want identification for voters in elections. I mean, this stuff is just intellectually inconsistent."

Franzi Schimmer captured this Grizzly bear in Brooks Falls, Alaska just floating along, tippy-tapping down the river, browsing the salmon.

Prior to hibernation, up to 40% of a bear's body mass is fat, which is less dense than water (~0.9 g/cm^2), so the murder-monster is also a floaty-boaty.

So it actually tastes more like mom's on the second day. That makes me think that either one element of hers was letting it cook longer (or making it ahead of time), or else that the taste I remember may well be the taste of it on the second day.
Well, I didn't quite succeed in recreating what my mom used to make but it's still pretty tasty @doomsparkler.bsky.social

I spoke with my aunt (her sister) & we think my mom just went off in her own direction with her recipe because my aunt made kapusta as a cabbage soup & didn't put sausage in it

There are very few things I believe more strongly than this:

If you orient your politics around things that you know are not true, or don’t care if are true, whether because it sounds good, or you think it’ll impress people, or any other reason, you are planting the seeds of your own destruction.

Although generally I am a sucker for classic adaptations, I will never ever see the current Wuthering Heights movie because it is too ridiculous to have 35-year-old Margot Robbie playing Catherine Earnshaw, who dies at age 19

Just why

People, to the extent you have older relatives who cook something you love, try to get the recipe from them while you can. If possible, watch them make it or make it with them. Otherwise, you're going to spend the rest of your life missing those recipes and trying to recreate them.

You really shouldn't add me to lists unless they're either clearly nice (like a list of Corgi lovers) or at least applicable (like a list of lawyers). if it's not clear to me what it's about, or if it's negative, I'll block you & add you to my one list (of people who make silly lists on Bluesky).

It depresses the hell out of me that so many Americans don't seem to have the first clue how their government works (not to mention their own roles as citizens).

They demand impossible things, get angry at Dems when they don't happen, refuse to vote & the cycle worsens. It is fucking depressing.

I care about FEMA and the Coast guard, but I'm perfectly happy to see TSA funding lapse forever, tbh. That's another one of those post 9/11 things that got way out of hand

(and it's all worth it to rein in ICE)
It’s official: Republicans have let funding for FEMA, TSA and the Coast Guard lapse.

Rather than work with House Democrats on commonsense reforms to ICE, Republicans have chosen to SHUT DOWN the entire Department of Homeland Security.

If I can understand this, Senator Fetterman should be able to understand it. And if the stroke damaged his brain to the point where he genuinely can't grok it, he should step down
Fetterman on Fox News: "Shutting DHS down will have no impact on ICE. The director confirmed to my face in a hearing just this week, saying it has no impact because they already were funded with the big beautiful bill that I did not vote for. Why are all the Dems going to shutdown our entire DHS?"

As Melissa points out in the replies, this guy, who also proposes putting women in "breeding gulags" to be repeatedly raped and forced to give birth, had dinner with the president of the United States.
Fuentes, yesterday: “Our #1 political enemy is women because women constrain everything, every conversation, every man, everything. They have to be imprisoned. They are the ones that are hurting the fertility rate. They're the ones making us sympathetic to poor people, which are also brown people.”
Nick Fuentes: “The number one political enemy in America is women. … They have to be imprisoned.”

I'm sad Ilia Malinin had such a bad skate—he's so immensely talented. His description of his mental state tripping him up made me think of Simone Biles withdrawing from her events because she knew her brain just wasn't there.

It's got to be so much pressure—even more if everyone thinks you'll win.

To the extent we can't stop them from doing this, we can repurpose them in 2028 to lock up everyone in the Trump administration and all the ICE thugs
Breaking news: ICE expects to spend $38.3 billion on its plan to acquire warehouses across the U.S. and retrofit them into immigrant detention centers that can hold tens of thousands of people, according to agency documents.

May this one day happen to them.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

I've had a huge craving for steak frites all day but that would require my leaving the house so I'm having a salad.

(Steak frites don't survive delivery very well IMO, the frites in particular, especially as the places I'd favor for it are out of my delivery zone.)

I have been hearing that this email was actually about a dog, which makes sense. But we are living in a sad world where it was actually plausible that it was about the president of the United States.
Ghislaine Maxwell, in an email to a Philip Levine:

"How could you send me pictures of Baron being unfaithful w/another women? I am devastated. Tell me he did not pee on her too. At least if he did not do that I know that he does not feel threatened so I still hold pride of place"
