Your buddy Jenn! Queer, fat, old af legend of emo. Mostly cat pictures. She/her.

Every time I take the car through an automated car wash, I wonder how it feels to be pummelled by those big spinny silicone brushes that go whappawhappawhappa. Another sensation denied me by my fragile mortal body.
Went grocery shopping! Picked up a bag of free bread from someone on a FB free stuff group! Traded a box of veggie nuggets and some of the bread to some nice tattooed queers off a different FB group for some incense and a burner! Being a person is exhausting!!!

Trying to decide whether I want to use the 4th level ability score bump to make my girl Scilla more buff by bumping her STR and CON to 16 or if I want to go all in on CHA to improve her spellcasting... hmm...

I’ve seen a few folks go for the “if you simply must watch that new Harry Potter show just pirate it” and sorry. No. Just no. Just don’t watch it. At all. Ever. Break free of it. It’s time. You’ll be ok. I promise. I know it mattered to you as a kid. Find new things, it’s healthier. Just move on.

Arguably the *correct* answer here is the anthology of Dracula, Frankenstein, and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde I picked up at around 13, which is probably responsible for a lot of why I'm like this, but the *fun* answer is Lord of the Dead by Tom Holland, in which Lord Byron is a vampire.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

Weirdest grief shit I've done lately: bought a knockoff floral LEGO set because it reminded me of the flowers we chose for Mum's funeral.

There were two things in the past that made a huge difference: labor unions and the GI Bill. The first provided economic security, the second, economic mobility.
People wildly overestimate the economic security experienced by past generations. There's no period in American history where significant numbers of young people were just handed high paying jobs. Nostalgia for a time that never existed is a huge problem.
Why Nikki Haley’s son went radical: His generation inherited insecurity.

I profile Nalin Haley, a fascinating young man, who I believe will likely play an important role in conservative politics in years to come.

Melancholy evening playing Animal Crossing. I haven't touched it since the week after Mum passed, but this week's Nintendo Online challenges were "play something with online play", "play something with Cloud Save" and "play Animal Crossing", so.
