Today we won.

A U.S. District Court ruled that the administration violated federal law when it secretly convened a group of climate contrarians to produce a thoroughly debunked report to overturn the Endangerment Finding.

The science still matters. We won't stop.

How do we predict the climate of 2030, 2050 or 2100? We have to interrogate the past. Modern weather records only go back about 150 years. To understand where our planet is heading, we need a longer memory.

We don't know what's happening, but there's no good news here. As long as we keep burning fossil fuels, the world will continue to become more dangerous and chaotic.
Scientists thought they understood global warming. Then the past three years happened.
The fastest warming period since 1880 occurred in the past 30 years, according to a Washington Post analysis of NASA data.

Here is a graph of the 3-year running mean for Arctic sea-ice volume, with daily values from Jan. 1, 1982 to Jan. 31, 2026.

The record low minimum was 13,336 km³ on Oct. 30, 2019, but volume has been fairly flat since 2013.

Is a new record low coming soon? Yes! Stay tuned!

Hurricanes are getting stronger: This study found from 1992-2021, Cat 1+ hurricanes globally intensified by 1.74 m/s (3.9 mph) over the 30-year period, and that a cold bias in IPCC climate models "probably contributes to an underestimate in projections of major hurricane frequency.”

Methane reached a record high of 1946.5 ppb!

That's already much higher than the peak of the mid range climate scenario SSP2-4.5, which peaks at ~1905 ppb in 2030!
