We are facing the most brazen rollback of civil rights in generations.

On July 17th, five years since the passing of Congressman John Lewis, communities are mobilizing to ensure #GoodTroubleLivesOn and carry John Lewis’ legacy forward.

a lot has been made of the fact that younger voters don’t view Trump as “abnormal” because he has dominated the scene for their entire political lives

that’s true but it swings both ways, “only centrism can save you” isn’t compelling to those people
A lot of new voters, especially the 18-24 year olds who showed up in NYC, are not shaken by propaganda that was even effective on millennials. A lot of their first political experiences were getting brutalized by cops for opposing genocide, under dem leadership. The old guard is nothing to them.

“What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?” by Frederick Douglass.

This is the perfect time to read the entirety of Frederick Douglass’s famous speech, and not merely because of the date on the calendar.

We know what she did, as well. We can't let her get a pass. Is Collins can muster a backbone, she could as well.
She knows what she did

We now have a concentration camp in Florida.

Stop pretending any of this is normal.

If you claim to be a good person and you're not outwardly opposing this regime, you're not a good person.

Be human.

While not optimistic, I dared to HOPE Murkowski would've opted to do the right thing for the country, not just her state. If Tillis can choose retitement over evil, so can others. There are other options than holding on to an elected seat you don't even deserve.
Lisa Murkowski and John Thune deserve this. Trying to exempt Alaska from odious parts of this bill to buy her vote is overruled by parliamentarian. www.politico.com/news/2025/06...
Senate rulekeeper deals blows to revised ‘Big, beautiful bill’
A Medicaid carveout for Alaska was among the “Byrd bath” casualties.

America would only have bombed Iran if they were absolutely certain that Iran did not in fact have nuclear weapons.

But now, they've probably made it certain that they will get them.

My husband says Iran won't be stupid enough to strike back.

?

Oh, that's right. He has dementia.
So…

People seem to think that we’re just done now? We bombed the shit out of three nuclear sites in a country we weren’t at war with, and that’s just… it?

Oh, my sweet summer children.

Kind of like migrating would-be farmers did about settling in the Dakota's. Always marveled at that as a child growing up there, when I learned that if we got 2" less rainfall per year, we'd technically be considered a desert. It has evolved since.
Arizona, is hot as blazes, no water, and the main plants are covered in nails. Nature was very clear, do not live here. And people were like "hold my warm beer"
