Sometimes people ask me why I'm mad all the time, and I have to refrain from mentioning that Yarvin regularly visits the White House, while my friends who warned the world about him are dead.

the press is so deeply invested in pretending Weiss is a serious person

at no point does this article get within 200 yards of the truth that Weiss is the exact sort of person who has eroded the flailing trust in media she professes to be fixing
Bari Weiss Is Making TV News’ Crisis of Confidence the Big Story
The CBS News chief is saying loudly and publicly what other executives and anchors are saying privately, but it isn't clear whether her gambit to save CBS will succeed where others have failed.

I think it's time to start publicly speculating that the people around senile Trump are manipulating the old man. Divide and conquer. He won't like it and it would be smart to whip up the internal dissension. Rubio, Hegseth, Vance, Miller are running their own agendas. The succession is underway.
I think I finally understand his concept of a plan. He believes that if the government sends people the subsidies directly, they will have enough money to pay doctors and hospitals for their healthcare themselves.
Trump to House Republicans: "You can own healthcare. Figure it out. Let the money go directly to the people. No money for the insurance companies."

What the bad people think happens...
Any Mom: I have questions about the infant vaccines.
Me: Fuck you antivaxxer. Good luck on finding new doctor as great as I am.

What actually happens...
Mom: I have some vaccine questions.
Me: Sure, lets talk about each one and why I want your baby to get them.

Maybe 15 years ago, at work, noticed a guy who liked “debating” politics wasn’t interested in real debate or engaging facts, just in pissing off me and another liberal co-worker. So I just stopped talking to him for a couple months and then strictly no-politics. took years to realize he was trolling
your mileage may vary but my experience on here improved pretty noticeably when I stopped offering explanations to people whose questions sought conflict rather than answers

I want this site to beat twitter, and for twitter to evaporate. For that to happen, people you hate must have a more pleasant experience posting here than posting there.

A minority of this site decided instead that they want it to be their little club, so that's what we have.

I loved TWIB & Mel Allen

Twitter is owned by a fascist, Facebook and the Washington Post have gone MAGA, and now CBS News is about to be turned into far-right state TV. Here’s why America has a liberal media bias problem.

so, joking aside, I do really dislike this dynamic

one of the reasons I very rarely get in fights On Here (aside from finding it personally upsetting) is that I believe that most people on the left-liberal spectrum have their hearts in the right place and prefer to direct my ire at people who don't

The Epstein Files Transparency Act is a law, passed by Congress on November 19 with an overwhelming vote. Complying with it was not optional. The Department of Justice did not comply.

I want to make sure this is very clear.

This should rank as one of the most serious corruption scandals in history- the White House sharing top secret military information with oil company executives but not with Congress, creating massive opportunities for insider trading and other corrupt deals.

1. I thought the "it's for the oil" was supposed to be said behind closed doors only.
2. "It won't cost us anything, the oil will pay for it" - I've heard that one before.
3. How are we going to "run the country" without hundreds of thousands of troops?
4. Why is he leaving out Machado?

Research has shown the American right is more willing to share online posts they know to be untrue because their desire for in-group dominance is far stronger than those on the left.

But I also adore libraries so go to your library this new year. They have all the books, you can request books and they nearly all have a online service for e books these days. #Libraries2026
