Scrolled so much, I finally reached the end of the internet.

Welp. Guess I'm going to actually have to edit now, dammit.

Lemme see if I understand this correctly now that we have some unreacted material. The redactions do not protect victims bc no victim info was under those black redactions. (quelle surprise)

What WAS under the redactions? Bad people and orgs and exchanges of $ the DOJ for some reason wants to hide.

And now someone has uploaded a version that wasn't filmed off a TV.

There's also the torrent link there, which is probably the fastest way to download the 60 Minutes segment on CECOT if you want to save the file locally to your computer.

While 60 Minutes shrivels up and goes down in infamy for cowering to a tyrant, boost this related PBS documentary story that also addresses this important topic.

"I can't afford to support my favorite author right now, I—"

Reviews.

Reviews are free AND they are a gift to authors that can keep on giving (i.e., exposure, marketing, algo boosts, etc.)

Please, give the gift of reviews to your authors this holiday season. It really can make a difference!

I swear to god Hubs puts on cheesy Xmas movies that have doctors and medical plots in them, just to watch me slowly lose my mind over the course of the movie.

For real, a cardiac cath lab in a tiny rural hospital? Also, it's a blizzard and the roads are closed. Yo, the cath team can't make it in.

Medical deserts = harmed or dead patients

It's simple. If lawmakers make choices that close down critical access hospitals, when something bad happens as a result of the lawmakers' decisions ... those lawmakers should be sued and held liable for those lives lost. Hold them personally accountable.
When rural hospitals are pushed to the brink, families face life-or-death consequences.

Amy, a homecare worker in Alaska, describes the hours-long trip she and her neighbors could face just to receive care if their local hospital shuts down under Medicaid cuts.

It seems all magical and exciting to run out for an urgent delivery...

but far less so when you have to cram on 3 layers of clothing + hat + boots + gloves and drive snowy roads to the hospital in below-freezing temps at 3am.

This just...wasn't in the med school glossy brochure, is all I'm saying.

Three orders make that much difference
I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

TAPS SCREEN

For like the zillionth time: Libraries are FREE for you, but WE still get compensated for our work!!
Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!
