Writes romance and horror. Sometimes combines the two in a horrible romance. Gluten-free. May contain nuts. No DMs, please, because the UK has determined I'm not adult enough to read them.

It’s only Frankenstein if it’s from the Frankenstein region of France - otherwise it’s just a sparkling monster.

there's a moment in PARADISE LOST where Satan arrives in Eden and realizes Hell isn't a place; it's a thing he carries within him and it'll follow him wherever he goes. and i think about that when i see these awful rich men whose monstrous wealth has enriched them not at all

Merits of gossiping on public transport = just avoided taking a ferry to a shop that isn't even open until tomorrow. It's handy being of an age where every other woman with a shopping bag is a potential conversation partner.

At risk of flogging a dead horse: this whole letter is a reminder that the creative process is an end in and of itself, and vital to self-actualisation. You can’t experience BECOMING, as he puts it, by outsourcing it to ChatGPT.
In 2006 a high school English teacher asked students to write to a famous author & ask for advice.

KURT VONNEGUT - born 103yrs ago today - was the only one to respond.

His reply was a doozy.

People in the UK aren't getting transphobia from weird niche online communities.

They're getting it from the prime minister, the BBC, politicians and the newspapers in every newsagents in the country.
when this piece of shit is asked what good phone pouches are supposed to do, shs responds glibly about online radicalisation. where else would children learn to be transphobic in the tolerant UK, after all? ridiculous
On Brianna's 19th birthday, this morning I joined @cheshirepcc.bsky.social and the Brianna Ghey Legacy Project Phone Free Education campaign at the launch at Jodrell Bank of a new £150k initiative to make Cheshire the first county in the UK where ALL state high schools have lockable phone pouches.

Explaining historical fact vs historical fiction in Death by Lightning. I'm afraid the words 'buttchugging Bovril' were used. And that they had to tone down the ending, unless they were going to be okay with it being classified as a horror.

"The eldest had taken himself and his male heir out of the genepool after saying something to the effect of 'look, if Prince Andrew can do it then any bloody idiot can learn to fly a helicopter.'" Ugh. Hate when I come across a line that dates my WIP like that.

Honestly, it's quite a front page, isn't it? Just saying with your whole chest you believe in things you can't prove are real and that nobody has ever successfully proved are real, but they give you the jibblies nonetheless and therefore must be real.

Oh, and ghosts.

Oh. Oops. Heahmund's dead. Thank Christ for that. I couldn't handle much more of Jonathan Rhys Meyers' whisper/scream acting.

Lagertha, I am begging you to fix your taste in men. At least young Ragnar was hot. Heahmund is just gross.

So much to love in the new Frankenstein, but I do particularly love the choice to dress Elizabeth in the most poisonous shades of 19th century green - Paris and Scheele's. She's so doomed, poor thing.

New booze obsession. Think Baileys, but made with rum instead of whisky. Background spice is very chai-like. Just dumped some in a panna cotta, to be topped off with bananas roasted in brown sugar.
