The section on LLM misinformation & micro-disinformation alone is worth everyones’s time & imho should be a book. It’s SUCH a good contextualization.

It's telling that, according to her CV, her two appointments are at OpenAI and Anthropic, and the majority of her publications are stuff on "objective morality" and so on.

It's pretty much a lot of disengaged, disembodied philosophy which is... bullshit.
“She compares her work to the efforts of a parent raising a child. She’s training Claude to detect the difference between right and wrong while imbuing it with unique personality traits.”
This Philosopher Is Teaching AI to Have Morals
The tech company has entrusted the philosopher to endow its chatbot with a sense of right and wrong.

I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

Job offer!!
I’m helping a PBS series look for a social media manager/content creator for an upcoming promotional campaign. The start date is ASAP, and a project timeline that currently goes to July.

This is for a series on American Muslim history, so candidates with cultural familiarity preferred!

I just generally think the antidote to dooming and feelings of helplessness is getting involved in any way. It can be as a poll worker, doing ICE watch, running for local office, helping with mutual aid, whatever.

You can get so much accomplished in your town or city if you just get involved.
anyway i know how many of you hate that i’m so vocal about this and think it makes me a naive shitlib or whatever. but again, i think the best thing you could do for yourself here is to get involved in election administration where you live.

this unprecedented momentum behind a single issue sure might be a useful fulcrum to try and wrench this country back from over the brink
74% of Democrats support abolishing ICE, with 53% *strongly* supporting it, according to YouGov polling from last month.

Weak calls for "reform" are coming from *elected* Democrats like Chuck, not the average Democratic voter.
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

Did an episode with @davidgerard.co.uk that goes out tomorrow about Clawdbot/openclaw/whatever that crap is. It’s more LLM bullshit that the media is scarfing down because some people made a fake social network for LLMs to post to. Nobody will care about this in a few months

Guardrails are a scam. It's not that they could work, it's that they cannot and never will for such models. By design. 1/n
Can't stress enough how lax Grok's guardrails are here. We didn't use any deceptive prompting -- just fed it names and asked for addresses / where someone might live. The bot readily complied, often offering up whole lists of names and addresses.

Only *once* did it decline to provide an address.
