Dang, hard disagree. The best papers to write and read are works of art, not merely a list of data and statements.

Don’t let LLMs take this away too, for gods sake.
I honestly think we would all be a lot more productive if papers were bullet points with plots.

As someone who once wasted half a day wondering why this one cell wouldn’t cluster with any other & always stayed in the same position in the UMAP this physically hurts 😅
As someone who looks at a lot of Manhattan plots, I can say that an under-appreciated cause of false positive GWAS hits is stuff stuck to my computer screen.

Great and stimulating lecture from Neil Shubin @neilshubin.bsky.social today at College de France showing how biological innovations predate the revolutions. Evolution is a tinkerer! Thank you @denisduboule.bsky.social for the invite! I’ll try to find time to read George Sand 😁

This is a job for referees, not AI. (And any referee worth their salt would see that this example is an interesting hypothesis worth testing, not wild speculation beyond the data.)
Nature suggests you use their "Manuscript Adviser" bot to get advice before submitting

I uploaded the classic Watson & Crick paper about DNA structure, and the Adviser had this to say about one of the greatest paper endings of the century:

The bot doesn't know what Watson & Crick mean by "suggests", because the entire concept of formulating a hypothesis and doing any sort of thinking is not something a LLM can relate to.

📣 New preprint! Stoked to share a fantastic collaboration with @campaslab.bsky.social!

We discover a unique mammalian mechanism for body axis elongation using mouse and human gastruloids, and confirm central findings in mouse embryos.

Check out the 🧵 👇

Really happy and proud to share my PhD work! This has been a fun and collaborative project that led to the discovery of a unique biophysical mechanism of axial elongation in mouse gastruloids and human gastruloids, and confirmed our key findings in vivo with mouse embryos. Check it out down below!

What a meeting! #GastrulationReloaded not only discussed the blueprint of the body plan, but also provided the blueprint of what the next decade of #devbio could look like. Old 🤝 new questions. New 🤝 classical tools. In vivo 🤝 in vitro. Gastrulation Reloaded: The most amazing time of your life?
#GastrulationReloaded was a FANTASTIC , loaded with exciting discoveries. It went beyond gastrulation because what happens before & after is obviously connected. Still, not half the people who should be there were. @jeromegros.bsky.social largely funded the conference 👏. @embo.org should reconsider
