Our first zebrafish paper in collaboration with Jeff Amack's lab was accepted by @devdynamics.bsky.social. Our work shows that in zebrafish, a Fhod3 paralog is needed for normal cytoskeletal maintenance in developing skeletal muscle.

Important lesson for fish researchers (tbh, any researcher):

Make your solutions fresh! (e.g. "alarm substance stored overnight at −20°C elicited a diminished alarm response compared to fresh alarm substance of equivalent dilution")

Did you know the last common ancestor of #zebrafish and humans was ~450 million years ago? A whole genome duplication event (3R) occurred early in the teleost fish phylogeny. Despite this event, zebrafish and humans have about the same number of chromosomes. #ZebrafishFunFacts 🧪
