Hard to believe the unbelievable cruelty of the Trump administration. You are watching the deliberate and illegal strangulation of 10 million people and the US media can hardly be bothered to notice. Whether the govt stays or falls, this man-made humanitarian crisis of epic proportions will remain.

The concentration camps will not only be for immigrants, documented or otherwise. They already aren't.

They won't only be for brown and Black people.

The targets will keep expanding. It will not end.

The only way it will is if we stop it. Both in and out of the system. There is no other way.

An ethics waiver is for when you waive ethics
The current person in charge of ICE's procurement for detention is a GEO Group executive who ran the company's immigration detention portfolio. He was granted an "ethics waiver" from DHS allowing him to hand out contracts to GEO in his new role.

Genocide.

It was genocide when Andrew Jackson did it to Native Americans & it’s genocide now.

That Yossi Klein Halevi circulates a letter NOW calling the word genocide “blood libel“* tells on some Israeli & US Jewish centers’ (these signatories)’ tacit approval of Palestinian land theft.

Bezalel Smotrich: the next government must "encourage voluntary migration" of Palestinian from the West Bank - there is no other solution. "We must complete the revolution".

This is what the Israeli right is working towards: not Apartheid, but mass expulsion.

This captures my fear about these drugs - that people will see their existence as license to be even crueler to fat people and to further police what an acceptable body looks like. I already see it in people I know- they use the drugs to confirm their judgments rather than question their assumptions
I have no interest in policing other people's personal health choices in any way. If you're taking a GLP-1 and happy with it, then I'm happy.

But we're never going to be a country without fat people — or the need to treat each other with grace and humanity regardless of size.

The more of these fascist atrocities I see, the more I become an immigration maximalist. Let everyone in, give everyone work permits/green cards. Make it possible to get citizenship within a few months. Make it as easy as getting a driver's license.

Monstrously evil. Abolish ICE. Melt down its weapons and sell off all of its assets. Release everyone from its concentration camps and grant citizenship (if they want it) to everyone whose rights it has violated.

Your regular reminder that since August of last year, Mr. Abrego has agreed to be deported to Costa Rica, but the Trump admin refuses to do so because they want to instead punish him by sending him to an African country that will most likely detain and then deport him to El Salvador for the admin.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement cannot re-detain Kilmar Abrego Garcia because a 90-day detention period has expired and the government has no viable plan for deporting him, a federal judge ruled. https://cnn.it/4kHhwqR

As glad as I am that he's keep track of this family, just think of the countless other children and families who have no advocates. This whole system must be dismantled and everyone involved in propping it up held accountable.
We are laser-focused on tracking them down, holding ICE accountable for this monstrous action, demanding specific details on their whereabouts and wellbeing, and ensuring their safety.

i don’t think dems will have the numbers they need to actually dismantle DHS or even just ICE after the midterms, *but* they can spend two years tearing into what’s likely to be a megaton of malfeasance and fraud at DHS and line it all up for a dem AG
corrupt, but also staggeringly incompetent and catastrophically understaffed when it comes to planning and administrative capacity
One of my firm beliefs about ICE's $79B budget is that the organization is so corrupt it'll grift and graft it's way through that pile of dough so fast it'll make heads spin.

Mr. Sim lived in the US for 43 years. He was ordered deported 20 years ago after a larceny conviction. Because Cambodia wasn’t accepting deportations, he was allowed to stay on an order of supervision.

After 20 years, he was suddenly arrested at an ICE check-in and sent to detention, where he died.
