I paint the land from the Anishinaabe perspective that we are all one.
I camp on the land and listen to what She tells me. Then I come back to the studio and paint her stories.

If you want there to be a certain kind of art in ten years, you gotta pay for that art now. You gotta make sure small time artists can survive the next ten years. If you can't afford to, then tell people about the art and artists you love. Gush about them. Help others find them.

Today marks the beginning of Treaties Recognition Week. Treaties are living agreements that require ongoing commitment and shared responsibility between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. We all have responsibilities as treaty people and must collectively honour all treaties across Turtle Island.
