The sun is shining and it’s the last day of my local farmer’s market so it’s The Big One.
Beeswax candles, Xmas gifts and Deng’s Thai food were money well spent. Shop local!

The weather is so YUCK here that I’ve had zero kids so far… over 150 is the norm. Wind/rain/snow 🎃

On the plus side I guess I’ll catch the game on time. Wearing all blue for luck!

Long time no see! How’s everybody doing this Friday? Seems like Ontario got under some thin skin today.

I thought I’d show my face for my new followers. Thanks for being here.
It’s hard taking selfies while walking but I had to keep up with my group 😄

Alderville Pow Wow was honestly one of my best weekends ever. Such a great community filled with love and support.

Miigwech to Thunder Cloud Woman for snapping this photo of me.

I’m thrilled that my poem Baamaapii/See you again will be inscribed on The Women’s Table.

This Friday at 6pm is the grand unveiling in Victoria Park in “Canada’s Poemtown” Cobourg, Ontario!

My sister has power as of 15 mins ago! My aunt is still out. Alderville First Nation is still under a state of emergency.

This is a small glimpse of remaining power outages in my area. Ontario got hit hard.

I’m in a phase where everything I’m doing turns out 💩. Such is creative life eh?

I’m rolling with it and using this junk canvas to create with no expectations. I’ll let you know how it goes.

It’s been one year since my little sister left this world. She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at 46 and 3 months later was gone. It’s still really traumatic and feels like yesterday.

Tiffany baa was loud, a talented jewelry maker and had a big laugh. She loved her family very much.

Did you know that I’m an artist in Canada and I use Canadian made oils paints and canvas?
Truly Canadian art.

And I’m First Nations so, you can’t get more authentic and homegrown than that.

Today’s #Januarty theme is sweet.

There’s nothing sweeter to me than listening to earth’s whispers.

Today is #OnlyBeautifulThings.

This is me with my 96 yr old Nana. She lives independently, still drives, and is an amazing human.

As an Anishinaabe kwe she’s been through so much but she is a warrior.

I love her so much, she’s my beautiful thing for today.

I just ran across #Januarty from @nancybennett.bsky.social (go follow her!) and the theme is yellow.

Here’s one with yellow I did of my hike along Lake Superior.

My palette this week.
After a self induced grief hiatus last year I’m back and playing with colour and form. New series will begin soon and it feels good to be me again.

Also, if you’re in Canada try Kama Pigments - it’s such good oil paint!

How’s your week going?
