We are living in one of the few times in human history where you can buy a loaf of bread and if it says it’s made with wheat flour and salt and yeast and water and nothing else, it’s probably made from just those ingredients, and some people want to END this.

BREAKING: Police just surrounded Rev. William Barber, prominent activist and pastor, as he and others prayed in the U.S. Capitol Rontunda.

Police then expelled everyone (including press!) from the Rotunda to (presumably) arrest them.

I've covered protests here a lot. Never seen anything like it.

Reminder that we asked federal employees to gum up the regime’s plans, so when you respond to another ‘how stupid are they’ and it’s not a political appointee, let’s avoid ‘they are utterly incompetent’ (plays to 47’s reason for firing so many) and also ‘they must be anti-47!’ (puts them in danger)

About 1400 military and overseas voters in Guilford county must cure their ballots (still unknown how) and ballots from those deemed ‘never residents’ are to be thrown out, although those voters can appeal with proof that they lived in N.C. at some point

🚨NEW: The NC Supreme Court's GOP majority will retroactively nullify 2,000 to 7,000 ballots from military and overseas voters unless they quickly prove their identity—but only those who voted in a few Democratic counties.

Could overturn Justice Riggs' victory.

Storytime.

In 2005, my mom died from cancer, but the real cause was the actions taken by an insurance company 12 years earlier. What happened to her was evil, hard to identify or fight, and hidden from the public by legal mechanisms. Because of that, I have no idea how often it has happened.

But today, take a beat to hear the soft, human joy of many Syrians as they cry, embrace, learn if wrongly jailed loved ones survived & vow “now we can go home.” 🧵

every butch lesbian i know has put up with bathroom policing and doesn't want it for anyone including our trans siblings because you're in the bathroom to void waste, clean up, and head out, and not to defend yourself against someone yelling there's a man in here. Period.
that trans bathroom bans will affect cis women who don’t fit the mold of prescribed Womanhood is a feature, not a bug btw.

the entire point is to police women because (trans)misogyny is a social control mechanism. the fascists know this—they do not care—it’s the desired outcome
