So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

Do not assume that everything they set out to do is inevitable. They have been successfully fought on multiple fronts, from courtroom wins that have actually stuck to city and state governments that haven't backed down, to activists in the streets organizing against their violence.

As a scholar of violence and nonviolence I am used to thinking broadly about what constitutes violence beyond what is considered a standard definition. But this is whack, filming the state being violent is an act of resistance, not violence.

In Philadelphia and Doylestown, Democratic voters are dreaming of a 2028 rebound. But with no clear leader and plenty of frustration, they wonder if the party can deliver.
