hello and such.

Things I like include and are not limited to: snooker, beatles, cake, fandom, feminism, the a-team, pesto, prisoner cellblock h, space, colour and trees. My favourite animal is an otter, and my favourite beatle is a paul.
the fact that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck started working together as much as possible again because they watched Get Back and realised that John and Paul regretted every second they spent apart is so fucking touching I almost can't look at it

Currently half way through reading IT and honestly this video has absolutely sent me - I’ve watched it too many times

10/10, cinema - never beating the allegations 🎈

Sunlight is the best film I've seen this year, and that means nothing because I don't really watch or like films, but all the same, a thousand times good.

Maybe baby!Maigret could team up with baby!Bergerac and solve nothingy!crimes in the nondescript!modern!world by... ?breaking the rules and taking risks? Why have you remade both these shows with absolutely no imagination instead of just one of them, no idea, blank.

hi all - is there anyone who can quickly let me know: if you are logged into an amazon account, and click on 'other used new collectible' for a book - and then choose between paperback or hardback choices - does the window open so you can choose and buy a book?

I loved every second of heads of state, basically perfect, I don't see why you would make other films.

I have added tassels to my cushions. Redundancy is marvellous.

Very happy that after season 1, the Alone people were like 'actually nobody can survive Australia!' and moved to NZ which is closer than Canada but JUST AS NICE. TREES! FISH! MAMMALS!

I made January's cake again, and frankly it was very noble that I waited this long!

to balance how utterly awful my entire last 12 months on earth have been it turns out australia have made TWO full more seasons of Alone without my noticing, and I am joy, and I'm allowed to just watch them. I'm awful for being happy - Alone is dystopical at best and Australia - oh god Australia -

Had a short duet with a builder today while I was passing by the shop he's renovating. I couldn't see him, he was in the back, but he was singing along with 'if I were a carpenter' and I sang back without thinking, and promised to marry him anyway

I had a quick look at this book and it also has a recipe for corned beef meringue pie. I suspect it's probably nice, because corned beef is the Best Thing, and the meringue is (thankfully) full of cheese, not sugar. But the idea of it stopped me dead all the same.
This week’s Guest Recipe from the #CookbookCorner archive is Orkney* Fudge Cheesecake, from New Scottish Baking by Sue Lawrence!
*Other fudge may be used.

It takes nothing away from the brilliance of this show to acknowledge that this character was often humiliated and harassed in ways we would now recognize as totally gross, and it was Swit’s job to be plausibly so above it and so hyper-competent that she wasn’t pitiable or hateable.

I am watching Found, because it has Mark-Paul Gosselaar in it. I'm only a few episodes in, and it's not the Best Thing Ever, you know, but I'm enjoying it enough and I like the team of traumatised people who are Not Dealing With It.

this month's cake is a lemon meringue cake, which it is hard to get a good photo of, but which is a perfect sticky messy loveliness of good things.

Very much assumed these were both actors playing Prince Harry in a biopic before I read the headline

(i will stop posting about snooker soon now the snooker is gone, but I'm just still feeling it, because it's the best thing there is though.)

Hendry, on Ding, regarding Zhao becoming the first chinese snooker champion:

"It’ll be really interesting to see what Ding’s thinking. He’s been the benchmark for Chinese snooker. He will be fuming. If it was me I’d be fuming."

I'm just blocking everyone posting snooker who's acting like Zhou is a terrible convicted cheat and 'disrepute' this and 'definitely not racist but...' that.

Mostly because I Just Don'T Care. I don't. They were clearly under pressure to cheat, and he barely cheated, and he got punished.

Look at this nonsense. The One True Top Three all hanging out in the top six because nobody else can be bothered. Ding snuggled up there with them, because he's basically Hendry's replacement. I love them.
