The fact that Trump is selling them to Saudi Arabia today should also push us towards the Gripen. Saudi will receive theirs 1st due to best friend status with Trump and then Saudi will sell the technology to China and/or Russia.

The F-35 is also overpriced & costly to run compared with the Gripen, Rafale & other comparable jets. Hell, rebooting the Avro Arrow might even be more cost effective too.
