Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

In Egypt, travellers seemingly need telling not to hang clothes on sprinklers. It’s so high that I, at 6’4”, can’t reach it. But someone must have done it to prompt the sign, right?

Spoken to a lot of Egyptians about football this week. When I say I’m a Liverpool fan they immediately smile and say, “Mo Salah!” They are nearly all Arsenal or Chelsea fans, and “lovely jubbly” is the phrase I’ve heard the most. Although today I got compared to Gareth Bale, and I’ll take that!

This is why Rachel Reeves has an impossible task. You already pay national insurance on your pension contributions. For most people this won’t change anything. If you currently do a salary sacrifice—receiving a lower salary and saving both income tax and NI contributions—then you’ll be hit by this.
