I hate that line about not having a country if you dont have borders that everyone started using all of a sudden (I guess it sounded good when Richard Spencer or whoever said it). It's a terrible time to believe in the freedom of movement for all humans if this is my Left.

Usha clerked for Kavanaugh and Roberts!! She is fully aligned with the natcon agenda, even if JD is embarrassed to be seen with her.
I don't feel bad at all for JD Vance's wife, she's a dead-eyed Yale striver who wants this as bad as him and made a conscious choice to put on the populism skinsuit. But I do feel kinda bad for his kids. No matter how insulated, imagine being a brown kid named Vivek and that being your dad.

Yeah, they're going to refuse to seat the Democratic Congress in 2027. It won't work, but they will try.
Congresswoman-elect Adelita Grijalva hasn't been sworn in, so she has to roam Congress with an escort
I saw her this morning going through security along visitors — something lawmakers don't need to do when walking into the Capitol

“At this point, I can’t hire staff. We don’t have an office. I can’t get around without being escorted,” Arizona’s incoming House Democrat, Adelita Grijalva, said Tuesday.

The next president is going to have to ride around in a SCIF like Trotsky in his train while the WH is gutted, debugged, and rebuilt
Trump: “Some of the highest quality 24 Karat Gold used in the Oval Office and Cabinet Room of the White House. Foreign Leaders, and everyone else, “freak out” when they see the quality and beauty. Best Oval Office ever, in terms of success and look!!! President DJT”

I'm not going to put up with this kind of tone policing from the left anymore. I hate the fascists that are destroying this country, and everything bad that happens to them is a victory for progress and decency

I think he genuinely just has a hard time remembering who Kirk is or what happened to him
man they really didn't give a shit about that guy. as soon as it was clear they couldn't use his death to launch a purge they started to treat it like a nothingburger
Q: My condolences on the loss of your friend Charlie Kirk. How are you holding up?
TRUMP: I think very good. And by the way, right there you see all the trucks. They just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they've been trying to get for about 150 years.

I knew a lot of ‘bisexuals’ in the 90s that had one fling and that was it.

Just remarkable. Putin and Kim flanking Xi walking into the parade in a highly coordinated entrance ceremony, looking chummy and chit-chatty.

Real deliverism has never been tried
The IRA was surprisingly effective at spurring investment in green energy. Where it failed was making it *politically* sustainable by delivering immediate tangible benefits to the public. In that sense, the Green New Deal was, in retrospect, the more prudent and realistic approach. on.ft.com/4n4Ayra

The core question of representative democracy is whether representatives are elected as an avatar of their constituency, their collective economic and sociocultural wants/needs, or if representatives are elected as themselves, to keep constituents in mind, but center their own expertise and values
People are getting mad, but there's a core question to play here: does a representative democracy have an obligation to reflect public sentiment, even if they do not agree with the source of the public sentiment? Do they have a obligation to be a driver versus respond?

You can really tell the cultural context for the development of some sports' popularity. Baseball was designed to wile away the hours of a lazy summer afternoon at the ballpark. Football didn't become culturally dominant until television allowed that experience to filter down into the home
Something I really do like about baseball is its slower pace and its rhythm, I think it rewards patience and watching the delicate dance of pitcher and hitter even when "nothing" happens. Eephus gets at this quite well which is why I like it

People love dunking on the GRRM Aragorn tax policy question; but the quote is really about the end of history, not Robert's fiscal policy. Aragorn's tax policy, according to George, is putting in Littlefinger as Master of Coin

I'm insanely blackpilled on gun control (a thousand curses on the supreme court), but it's so refreshing to hear a politician be forceful about this
