Caving on a deal that doesn’t fix health care is, and always has been, a giant betrayal of the American people.

Hold the line. Save health care. I’m a NO on anything that doesn’t extend ACA subsidies.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Also Disney: cancels a comedian/late show hosts’ show because it’s what an authoritarian dictator has wanted for years.

This is infuriatingly stupid and a devastating loss to health research across the globe. Our tax dollars paid for that, and they just broke it for no fucking reason
Well the NIH has cancelled the Women's Health Initiative, the largest study of women in history

It has been running continuously since 1991 and has provided massive key knowledge about diseases in women

Unreal

I got the Covid vaccine at 19 + 21 weeks of pregnancy, and 20 more weeks later my baby was born healthy with Covid antibodies. I know that because a scientist tested her blood. Vaccines work.
RFK Jr: "It used to be that everybody got measles. And the measles gave you lifetime protection against measles infection. The vaccine doesn't do that ... it used to be that very young kids were protected by breast milk. Women who get vaccinated do not provide that level of immunity."

The fascists threw the University under the bus anyway.

I feel like there's a lesson in there about complying with fascism.

in the trump administration, “merit” is pronounced “white” like how strom thrumond said it.
Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story.

Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver.

This is what "merit" means to them.

For people that work in tech *only*.

An important clarification on what federal employees mean when they say "probationary period."

In tech, we're very reluctant to promote an engineer from say, level 5 to level 6, until we have enough time to know that the level 6 performance is sustainable.
