Yesterday, a second letter - B - started coming up. I still wasn't worried. Today? Third letter. I ran to the hospital.
They weren't worried.
I insisted, panicked: "Can't you see this is an emergent C?"

I want (and may have started drafting) a Bill and Ted sequel that starts with Keanu having a 9-to-5 in the city, montage, we see him going to therapy and saying he's starting to open up to people more: he's got a girlfriend now. He's 40-50 (Reeves is 61 btw).

Loving leaf sheep this morning. Costasiella kuroshimae. Tiny, adorable sea slugs look like sheep and photosynthesize by stealing chloroplasts from the algae they eat, making them one of the few animals that can create their own food from sunlight.

We ran out of flour today by the way. We're an industrial bakery and we did over $40, 000 in sales each of the past two days, and we ran out of flour. We're a bakery and we *ran out of flour*(and also baguettes; unrelated). No flour, can't make pie dough. So we have no pies.

The universe sure is capable of gorgeous things!
This is hands down my favourite #SolarFlare in recent years, an event from September 2024. The flare persisted for several hours, giving us a jaw-dropping view of ‘coronal rain’ (seen in the yellow structure) and ‘supra-arcade downflows’ (seen in the cyan structure). A beauty!

Most publishing workers don't want to use AI, and being able to point to public outcry and contract language helps us push back against it 👇
Ask your agent to request anti-AI provisions in the contract/push back against clauses that require them to ok AI use! We kept saying “authors will hate this” and being told “nobody’s complained”

Going out to one of my favourite holiday traditions soon: a local (ish? He's from Vancouver) dramatist does a reading of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol", and every year it is wonderful.
I wish I could share it with y'all, but all I can share instead is a suggestion to partake in *something* local.
