Trump’s violent, indiscriminate, racist mass deportation campaign is not a surprise. remember the 2024 RNC?

🚨TONIGHT’S PROTEST IN MINNEAPOLIS IS INSANE:

CNN is STUNNED. Share this widely!

“I've covered many protests… I've not seen a crowd like this before.” It’s 8 degrees. “It is freezing, but nothing, nothing is stopping these people.”

This isn’t a rally. It’s a movement. @calltoactivism.bsky.social

Take a few minutes to read this thread. To honor the victims and remind us all to make sure this never happens again 💔
Taking off my weather hat for a moment for something more important than the forecast…today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

I’ve shared before that my grandparents (mom’s side) are both Holocaust survivors. Please do me a favor and read their story in this thread.

⚠️~132 million: Number of people under alerts for snow, sleet, & freezing rain.

A large, long-duration winter storm is expected to bring widespread heavy snow, sleet, & freezing rain from the Southern Rockies & Plains beginning Friday (Jan. 23), spreading eastward toward New England this weekend.

Oh so true! Forecast outcomes often depend on subtleties that models can’t resolve. How deep will the warm nose be and for how long? Yikes!!

There’s a whole lot of real estate involved with this one. No, we don’t know what will hit your house, but a lot of people will be significantly impacted. Pay attention and prepare!

I got my first “will it snow?” this morning. My response this far out is “do not trust anyone who speaks with certainty, because it doesn’t exist” 💪
These are objectively hilarious snowfall forecasts alongside one another, for the same period:

I am stunned when I consider the cognitive dissonance of the language used by our current president toward Norway on the day that honors Martin Luther King. The emotional intelligence of these two men couldn’t be further apart, to our enormous detriment in 2026.
Norway's prime minister said that he received a message from U.S. President Donald Trump about rising tensions over Greenland in which the American leader reportedly said he no longer felt obligated to think purely of peace since he did not receive the Nobel Peace Prize. https://to.pbs.org/49Lovdm

All these other cities are like “we’d do x, y, and z to ICE, we’d be way more badass than Minneapolis” and as a Minneapolitan I have to tell you this is a weird fucking thing to be competitive about, it is an absolute hell and a really bleak thing to be fantasy role playing.

I mourn this day for so many reasons. My mother died suddenly of COVID one month before 1/6/21. I watched the attack unfold with incomprehensible shock. Five years later, the US foreign and domestic situation is so much worse and we are all more vulnerable. So many failures along the way. 😢
Never forget:

DOJ failed us.
SCOTUS failed us.
Mitch McConnell failed us.
Senate Republicans failed us.
The mainstream media failed us.
The Manhattan DA's office failed us.

Everyone said Trump was DONE after January 6.

But NO ONE did their jobs to make that happen.
