The Media Is Blowing a Big Story in Venezuela
With the president and his cronies ratcheting up their belligerence, the political press is failing to grasp how close we are to another regime change war.

Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

A massive crime. In Trump's first term, he declared economic warfare against #Venezuela. So more than 7 million #Venezuelans fled; 800,000 came to the U.S. But now Trump removed their legal protections -- and wants to deport them. @reichlinmelnick.bsky.social www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...
Venezuelans begin fleeing U.S. as protections end and threat of war looms
TPS expired for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans on Friday. Many are shuttering business, selling homes and boarding planes, or scrambling to find a way to stay.

It was an honor to be able to welcome Venezuelans and others to the US & help them reunite with family, after they were cleared by Border Patrol, from the end of Title 42 to 1/20/25.

It is unspeakable what was done to so many after that, ripping them from their new home & sending them to hell.

More arrogant lunacy. Not one single person in #Venezuela is quoted or cited in this article. We should pay attention, because these warmongers are pushing another #Iraq disaster. (@foreignpolicy.com should be ashamed it ran this.)

All Democrats (including Fetterman this time), plus Rs Paul and Murkowski, were not enough to put the brakes on a possible US military intervention in Venezuela.

Thanks to everyone who made calls and tried to pry away moderate Republicans who remain glued to Trump even after Tuesday’s vote outcome.
