In case you missed it: Jentry Chau Vs The Underworld has been nominated for THREE Children's & Family Emmy awards, including... Outstanding Writing!

Series creator Echo Wu and I were privileged to work with incredible writers on this show, and I'm over the moon that our work has been recognised.
I'd love to connect with more creatives on here, so: intro post!

I'm a screenwriter from London who moved to LA just before the ol' panny-D. I'm head writer of Jentry Chau Vs The Underworld, which comes out on Netflix Dec 5th! If you like Buffy, you'll like this:

Ill be clear about why I am so angry and critical about it: Im seeing a good portion of my students who have imbibed the notion that they dont have to read, think or write for themselves because ChatGPT/CoPilot will do their thinking for them, and its terrifying. It should scare all of us.

i think it’s entirely reasonable that discussion on the new toy that has a limited use compared to its promises and is force fed into damn near everything by corrupt tech companies and governments is going to have inherent animosity

lamenting on the lack of “reasonable” discourse is a skill issue
Once again: people are angry for very good reason, and this brand of post is perhaps one of the most tedious and bewildering. Practically every social media platform is rabidly pro-‘AI’ so are govts, academia, companies. This one small space being critical of AI is okay, I think.

The whole article is repulsive but this passage is at the core of it. She has no interest in writing books, she wants to win some kind of competition that nobody entered

A lovely little thread about Jentry, which is:

✅ Still on Netflix

✅ Up for THREE Emmy Awards next month, including for Directing and Writing 😎

✅ A really very good series if I do say so myself, so go and watch it plz
Xueting's Pop Culture Digest takes a look at Jentry Chau V.s the Underworld, which I spotlighted before it came out, and finally had a chance to see. It's harder to post about works that are superb, there's so much to say. I’m very impressed with how much this high school show leans into horror. 1/

My opinion didn't changed. I still love Jentry Chau vs The Underworld. But it is funny that this is happening on this post specifically considering it's from an entire thread

I think I said this a while ago while arguing with people who said that bots can do law / medicine.

The difficulty in practice is not simply knowing the symptoms of a clinical presentation. It is understanding that you have to ask people questions to make sure you understand what is happening.

If you want a break from the horrors of the news, may I suggest a free, six episode horror-comedy-murder-mystery-mock-doc about the world's best loved ventriloquist? Featuring interviews with his former dummy? And suspects getting murdered in increasingly theatrical ways?

A number of AI-generated images have been circulating on social media falsely claiming to show a young Zohran Mamdani and his mother posing alongside Jeffrey Epstein.

This has led to Alex Jones and others baselessly claiming that the fake images indicate Mamdani might be related to Epstein.
