Brief (re-)intro, as BlueSky is taking off:
Hi! I'm James Sanders, an analyst at TechInsights covering CPUs, GPUs, AI, and Quantum, as well as everything that has a semiconductor in it.
I'm probably the most hype resistant analyst in the industry—technology isn't a panacea for organization problems.

When the Conservative Party in Korea declared martial law, the Korean Democrats knew if they didn’t send them to hell there would be no opposition afterwards. And look at them. They’re taking the ex conservative president and ensuring he never breathes free ever again.

Call your senators! (I just did!)
Following up on this. This remains a ‘cave is minutes or hours away’ situation. If you want to impact how this plays out you need to contact senators literally now. I want to add additional points of context. What I’m relaying is what I’ve picked up from highly reliable sources.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

When you train AI to be bad at coding, it becomes mechahitler. When you train it to be good at coding, it embraces Mahayana Buddhism and becomes a digital Bodhisattva. No idea what is to be done with this information.

This Max Headroom laserdisc has been sitting on my bookshelf for the past year, as it’s funny to have Max peering over my shoulder during work calls.

But, I’m wanting to mix it up, and change it out for something of equal or greater weirdness (but, safe for work).

Any suggestions?

While Mamdani was out talking to real New Yorkers, Cuomo's campaign kept posting AI slop that deepfaked him into an NYC he didn't seem to have much interest in -- and it made him a toxic laughingstock

Andrew Cuomo's campaign embraced AI — and it made him a toxic laughingstock, while Zohran Mamdani cruised to victory.

Random cursed question—is there any evidence that Microsoft actually supports Windows 11 on Cannon Lake / Core i3-8121U ? It’s technically 8th generation, but Intel also deleted it from ARK.

Trump said that he will bar Nvidia from selling its most advanced chips to other non-US countries besides China, which would represent a significant escalation in his semiconductor trade policy rhetoric. Yet the interviewer didn't seem to even internalize what he said and moved on promptly.
I tuned in to the @60minutes Trump interview with low expectations, and I haven’t bern surprised. Norah let Trump lie and lie with barely any pushback or provision of corrective facts. Where is the Aussie guy from @axios when we need him?
