Just saw the video. And it’s horrifying. Congress must do its job.
BlueSky won’t let me share the video, but you can see one of the ICE agents rip a gun out of this man’s waistband *before* the shooting starts.
From this angle, it’s hard to see how this was anything but an execution, unless simply carrying a gun is now illegal in America.

Stronger bill this year from @russetperry.bsky.social (SB794) prohibiting extradition (and also investigation or assisting with an investigation) for obtaining healthcare that is legal in Virginia. Not just for abortion, although that was the original impetus.

Every day, I grow more confident that MAGA leaders inherently don't like their base. And they intentially misinform them to hide the fact that they are actually protecting themselves. That's why they tell you college is no longer worth it while sending their OWN kids to college.
The fact that the online Right are all freaking out about a number that they got to by *checks notes* adding up all the percentages of proposed legislation for *checks notes* income earners over $500K or $1M a year is so incredibly funny and shows how deeply unserious they are.

When I hear folks defend ICE by saying "look, the country voted for this," I'm reminded that what's so great about our Democarcy is that it's a living, breathing body. It's able to respond to horrific behavior, not always, but in the right circumsances. And, no, most Americans did not vote for this.

There's a clever floor substitute to the enabling legislation for the redistricting amendment on LIS now that adds a provision that the only venue (for related lawsuits, incl. moving those underway) is the Circuit Court of the City of Richmond (presumably a friendly court).

Up on House floor today is second reading of enacting legislation to accompany redistricting amendment. It includes a) date of referendum April 21, b) language of ballot measure, c) repeals, retroactive to 1971, the requirement of clerk posting language on courthouse doors.
