The American right does not defend slavery because progressives say it was bad. They defend slavery because racial hierarchy has been an important and increasingly explicit component of their ideology for 70 years. Read a fucking book.

You can't... repeal... a scientific finding. At that point it's just called lying about it.

Good timing in light of revoking the CO2 endangerment finding, in part because they say climate change is a Chinese hoax. In reality, China has chosen to dominate the energy future. We will live a more expensive, more pollutated life when there was a better way.

Not quoting because they have enough dunks on them but this strawman has taken root among some people, so: no, actually, that particular position is not predominant.

This framing conflates three distinct "anti-AI" views that sometimes overlap: financial bubble, overhyped, and societal harm.

UPDATE/SCOOP:

An FBI affidavit used to seize 2020 election ballots from Georgia's Fulton County omitted key findings from state investigators that undercut many questions about wrongdoing, an @npr.org analysis finds.

The FBI seizure of Georgia 2020 election ballots relies on debunked claims
An FBI investigation of the 2020 election in Fulton County, Ga., was initiated by a lawyer who aided President Trump's unsuccessful efforts to overturn that election, an unsealed affidavit says.

Trump is badly losing the war over ICE, not just on the streets, but also in the culture. As Bad Bunny shows, this has become a culture war unto itself. Trump-MAGA's initial hubris has been utterly deflated.

I've got fresh data illustrating the point. 1/

Trump Rages at Bad Bunny—and Accidentally Exposes a Big MAGA Weakness
MAGA’s hatred of the Super Bowl halftime performer reflects a hubris about what parts of the culture are “theirs.” But those assumptions are proving more wrong every day.

You’ll never guess but the solution to people not having money is to give them money.
"By the end of the two-year period, 94% of participants reported they were housed."

A million pilot programs show the same thing: when people are given enough money to afford housing, homelessness ends.

Other supports matter, but housing comes first. Not policing. Not moralizing. Homes.

And also, especially, the same for journalists. I really don't understand why this is so controversial here on Bluesky dot social. No one is saying "Don't criticize Dems." It's just that the balance of time/effort/focus is wildly out of whack (bsky.app/profile/mcop...).
This is my thing, yes criticize Dems and call them. But run your Republican Congress critters ragged right now. Make it impossible for them to have a moment of peace.
Again, I know everyone wants to yell at The Democrats & Chuck Schumer & Hakeem Jefferies, but there are 10-25 people in Washington who could literally end all of this tomorrow, & none of them are Democrats, & they continue to get 24/7 free passes for being absolute oath-violating cowards. Focus.
