I’d quit working if I could. I need like a few months to even process this death. This is some shit that takes the full breath out of you.

I’ve been back at work since 2 days after my mom died, so I can be off for her funeral. And that’s ALL I can muster. That’s all.

I don’t see how people get thru this kind of grief.

It’s so unparalleled.

I think people are in general are free to go to the doctor and Black people have quite a few reasons that we should be leery of going to the doctor but go anyway

my literary hot take is that anytime someone shows the slightest interest in reading you got to sell them on it like you got a quota to hit. book tok, 19th century goth, fairy smut, trashy detective novels, sci-fi fantasy, audiobooks, self-help, whatever, if someone is excited to read encourage them

Shit feels like it's decaying. That isn't to say I'm hopeless or don't still believe in the possibility of better. But this *gestures everywhere* don't just feel like the natural cycle of life, death, rebirth and growth. Feels like this place is afflicted with rot

The really big thing that takes us out of here and I know it may sound cliché, but it really is hugely significant is STRESS. We should start thinking about stress as a physical condition because that is exactly what it is.

An important aspect of advocating for yourself in medical spaces is having the script to do so. Knowing what to say and where to go next. Including having intimate knowledge of your health insurance or options if you are under/uninsured.
